Mads K. Johansen was a Danish designer whose work was influenced by Scandinavian simplicity and functionality, with an emphasis on construction and aesthetics. He studied design at the Danish School of Design and has worked in various locations around the world during his career, including Dallas, USA, and Munich, Germany. He designed the Stockholm and Jylland collections for Ton. The Stockholm chair is characterised by strict shapes and unobtrusive yet comfortable design that goes well with modern interiors. The Jylland folding table adds flexibility with the possibility of extending by 60 cm, while maintaining the clean lines and precise workmanship characteristic of Scandinavian design. Johansen’s work reflects his ability to combine aesthetics with functionality, while respecting traditional craftsmanship and bringing in modern elements.
