Desalto Maxi Clay Table
Designer & Inspiration
The Maxi Clay Table is designed by Marc Krusin for Desalto. It evolves from the brand’s signature “Clay” collection, reimagined at a grand scale — its monumental presence and refined geometry aim to transform the dining table into a sculptural centrepiece. The design fuses architecture and art: a slender conical support rising under a vast oval tabletop, balancing visual lightness with structural solidity.
Design & Concept
Maxi Clay redefines what a dining or meeting table can be. Its elongated oval top — up to 3.5 m — creates a sense of expansive intimacy. The contrast between the massive tabletop and the slim, tapered base plays with proportions: the base almost disappears at certain angles, making the top appear to float. Light and shadow shift across its surfaces throughout the day, giving the table a dynamic, living presence. It’s conceived for large dining rooms, open-plan living spaces, or contract settings that demand both elegance and presence.
Materials & Finish Options
Base: Rigid polyurethane core covered by hand-applied finishes such as “Concrete,” “Stone,” or “Marble.” The “Marble” version uses marble powder mixed with resin for a natural stone effect.
Top: Available in different materials depending on variant — options include ceramic, hand-finished MDF, or ash-wood veneer. The top can also be finished in a selection of textures and colours, offering a lot of customisation potential.
